Week 8

 February 18 - 

 The boys and I decided to spend the bulk of the day together. Since I know the oldest has a finite amount of time at home, I took the opportunity. We watched the extended cuts of Two Towers and Return of the King from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I read a little bit while they played a game, but the bulk of my day was watching movies.


February 19 - 

 Talk about a busy day in the kitchen. It was a three pie kind of day. I made a French Silk pie for my oldest, as that is his request every year. It was really late this year, but he said it was the best one I’ve made for him yet. I made a cherry pie for a friend that donated money to the pie auction a few weeks ago. And finally I made a German Chocolate Coconut Pecan pie for a coworker that also donated funds to the pie auction. I guess you could say I decluttered some disposable pie tins and various ingredients that were in my house. LOL! 


February 20 - 

 First day back at work after a long weekend. It’s always a little crazy on that first day. Overall, it was good though. I got in my 80 oz of water and almost 10,000 steps while at work. No decluttering. Hopefully I can manage to read some tonight.


February 21 - 

Today has been busy! The little one had robotics after school, which put us at home around 4:45. I had to throw together a pie and get it baked before we went to a meeting. After returning home, the little guy went to his room to call his dad, then played games on his tablet for about 10 minutes. I finished loading the dishwasher, contemplated washing dishes, then sat on the couch to read. I did manage to read for like 3 hours last night, so maybe I should slow down. Ha ha ha!!!


February 22 - 

 Another busy day in the books. Work, then home for a bit, then back to work for concessions with Key Club members. After working concessions I finished the book from last night. 

 Sadly, no decluttering.


February 23 - 

 Today was a little slower, except a friend invited me to a concert in a nearby town. The music isn't really my jam, but she's a great friend and I enjoy spending time with her. I met some of her friends and we hung out at the show. I got a new ear piercing before the show. It's a piercing I've wanted for years so that makes me pretty happy!

 No decluttering. High hopes for tomorrow before and after the birthday party that the little one will be attending.

 Oh, and I need to finish the overdue library book I have from work. 


February 24 - 

 I’m not feeling the greatest, so no reading or decluttering today. Just relaxing and NyQuil for this gal.

  February 4 -   I didn’t go to sleep until around 4 am. I really shouldn’t have had a soda so late in the day on Saturday, especially since I’ve been cutting back so much. Lesson learned!   I was looking forward to spending some quality time with the book I’m reading, but life got in the way and I was needed in other places. Oh well. I did get to read a little and I think that the reason life keeps pulling me away from the book is because once I really get into it, I won’t want to put it down.  No decluttering done today, unless you count getting the three pies out of the house and to the pie auction! Week 20 - The last week

May 12 -  The boys and my sister treated me to a wonderful day today. I am so thankful for all 3 of them! Due to the nature of the “holiday” I didn’t do any work around the house. However, I’ve noticed some things I can do outside tomorrow, weather permitting. May 13 -  As my lawn guy hasn’t been by to mow, I took it upon myself to charge up the battery for my weed eater and start hacking away at the front yard. With all the rain the past few weeks, I understand that those working in lawn care are behind schedule, however, the city I live in has these stupid, arbitrary rules about the length of grass and how citizens in this fine town will be penalized when their lawn doesn’t fit within those certain parameters. I despise those kinds of rules, so I will be plotting ways to make my yard either invisible to those in “power” OR to plant a BUNCH of flowers (hopefully mostly native) so they can grow freely and the rules won’t apply.  I’ve seen more than one house in this town ...

Week 19 - Oh look, even more lasts

May 5th -  Well, the rain had plans for us this week. Key Club was supposed to do sidewalk chalk for Teacher Appreciation Week, but due to the rain (at least it wasn’t during prom) the students made posters instead. While students made posters, I took down photo booth decorations and listened to them talk about prom. It seems like everyone had a good time. After hours of that I returned home to veg out. So, no home improvement projects today. May 6th -  The first full day of Teacher Appreciation Week. There’s a lot to organize this week, so I don’t foresee much happening at home. Between planning for the week and doing a final check (or two) on the senior video, I’m pretty tired just thinking about it; and it's only Monday.  May 7th -  Today members of Key Club had a catered meal provided for the teachers.
