Week 10 and 11 (because I forgot to post last week)

 March 5 -

I had to take a half day off work, again. The little guy is still not 100% and had to leave. He was supposed to have his first soccer practice, but I told him he wasn’t going. When I texted the team, he was one of like 3 kids that are currently ill and wouldn’t be at practice. I don’t feel so bad that he didn’t go now! In addition to that, the older one is down for the count now.

We did make a trip to the doctor to see if we could get answers for his constant illness. The nurse practitioner that he saw deemed him to have a sinus infection so he’s on antibiotics now. Thank goodness his health insurance covered the visit and medication.

As for my spending today: sandwich from Arbys, dinner for the little one and me from McDonalds (on the way to the appointment), bath bombs, juice, jelly and peanut butter from Walmart. I don’t feel great about the fast food, but I was unable to prepare dinner for the little one as I had a prior engagement before we had to go to Columbia.

Oh, and I finished the book. The way it ended makes me want to read the next one to find out what happened to the main characters.

March 6 -

I managed to avoid spending money today!!!!!

I started the next book in the series. I don’t know if I’ll like it as much, because some things the characters are doing frustrate me a lot.

March 7 -

I stopped at Sonic to purchase some tater tots for my oldest, but other than that I didn’t spend any money today!

I didn’t read. I managed to fall asleep after watching some Instagram Reels.

March 8 -

 No money spent today!

I read some in my book tonight. It’s kind of hard to get into this one.

March 9 -

Two days in a row! Yeah!

I’ll keep plugging along on this book, but I feel like it’s not going to be an easy or quick ride. Well, the book is over 500 pages, so there’s that….

March 10 -

Today was probably one of the more expensive days of the month, but it was worth it! The boys and I went to Planet ComiCon in KC and had a wonderful time. We met some super sweet celebrities, saw lots of AMAZING cosplayers, and just had a generally great time. I love Con and I’m so glad my kids do too.

While I waited for the boys to get a photo taken, I read in my book, but that was really the only time all day that I read.

March 11 -

I got my haircut today, and I spent the last of the cash I pulled out for Con to pay for it. I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t get the extra celebrity photograph that I considered. LOL! The little one and I stopped by Aldi to get some food. I love that store. We got a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, so we can snack on healthy food this week.

March 12 -

I had to go to Walmart to get items that Aldi didn’t have on the 11th. I also gave into an impulse and purchased a dress online from a vintage clothing store.  Usually when the store has something I like, I tell myself to wait and see if I still want the item a few days to a month later. And usually, the item I want is sold out of my size by the time I realize that it is something I really want. Tonight, I didn’t wait. I jumped before anyone could tell me no. (Anyone being myself.)

 I also read tonight.

March 13 -

I spent money at Walmart today, twice. I really gotta get better at getting a comprehensive list of things I need before I go to the store. The last trip was to purchase some shortening to make a pie and remembered two additional things I needed before Saturday. I swear, sometimes I need my debit card privileges revoked.

March 14 -

My oldest had an awards assembly today, so I treated the family to dinner at a local restaurant then we stopped by Walmart (again) so I could pick up some things to go with the meat I cooked in the crock pot all day for my lunch on Friday.

I read while we waited for the assembly to start. The little one was sitting next to me reading a physical book (mine is on my Kindle) and I overheard some lady speaking in astonished tones that a child was reading a physical book. I smiled a little to myself. If she only knew how much that kid reads.

March 15 -

Well, I didn’t make it a point to spend money today, it’s payday so money left my bank account as soon as it hit it. But, I did a fantastic job of not spending money. I did spend some cash on some cookies at work, but that was it!

I started an audiobook tonight because I am struggling to set aside time to read my kindle book. I have like 12 days left on the loan and I just don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it.

March 16 -

I had to go to the store today with my sister, but I spent less than $10! I got the three items I needed and one extra thing. I was so proud of myself.

I finished the audiobook I started last night. Once I get some housework caught up from the busy week we had, I plan on reading my Kindle book for the bulk of the day tomorrow.
