Week 17 - Crafting takes many forms

Image
April 21 -   I started a digital book from the library today. It’s going pretty quickly as the premise for the book is interesting and I look forward to seeing how it ends. I think I have an idea, but I’m not omniscient so I could be wrong.   No crafting today. April 22 -   Last day of spring break. So the little one and I decided to repot some plants and throw some seeds in potting soil and see what pops up. With the incoming rain this week, perhaps things will grow. *fingers crossed*  No crafting, but ya know, I count planting seeds as doing something beneficial to my goal of creating more beautiful things in this world. April 23 -   I worked a lot on the repurposed Christmas cards this evening. The little one doesn’t feel the greatest so he went to bed super early and fell asleep.   I finished the digital book from the library. It ended very similarly to how I imagined. However, I still enjoyed the premise of the book. I like it ...

Week 16 - Busy busy

April 14 -   No crafting as I went to my conference this morning. It was an uneventful trip down, I have a room all to myself with a great view. I’m excited about a lot of the sessions I will be attending and also not having to plan meals. LOL! It’s the little things, ya know. April 15 -   Today was day 2 of the conference, so there was no crafting, but I did finish Wintering. I really enjoyed reading a book that confirms that I’m not a freak of nature.  April 16 -   I drove home from the conference today. I left a little early because the weather was looking sketchy and I am a genius that left her actual glasses at home and only had sunglasses to drive home with. With skies getting darker, driving with dark glasses just didn’t sound like something I should be doing.  April 17 -   No crafting tonight. The little one and I attended a school function, then stopped at a friend’s house to visit for a bit. The visit ended up with me running h...

Week 15 - Crafting on the brain

April 7 -  No crafts, but I did clean some of the cushions on the couch as they were filthy and needed attention. Also did some yard work and took out some bigger items for our yearly bulk trash pick up.  Can’t really craft tomorrow as I have previous obligations. BUT Tuesday is promising. * crosses fingers * I did read quite a bit today and I took the little one to the park to play. I need to sit down with a planner and get back into the habit of planning out my week. I think that’s been part of my issue with remembering to post (which I know it’s only really happened once, but it still bothers me). So, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to go grab my planner and start making myself more accountable. April 8 -   Today was productive! While I didn’t get much done on the crafting front, I did complete a lot at work and got stuff done after work that needed to be done.  In terms of my crafting, I played catch up on my cross-stitch book case. I was about...

Week 14

Image
April 1 -  No crafts, only spending one last day in Seattle then flying home to terrible weather. April 2 -  No crafts, only recouping from a very late night, driving home from the airport in not so terrible weather. April 3 -  No crafts, only continued recouping from the return trip. April 4 -  No crafts. Still tired. House is a mess. April 5 -  No crafts, honestly forgot that’s what this month is about because of the trip. April 6 -  No crafts, but remembered that April might be the month for crafts. Took the youngest out to fly a kite and finished two books instead. One of such books was also started today. I might have a problem. Enjoy this photo of my child flying a kite for the first time.

Week 13 (plus one day)

March 24-31 I honestly did a terrible job of keeping track of anything for the end of March. I took my oldest son on a trip to celebrate his upcoming graduation and I failed to type my daily notes because of the packing and prep work for the trip. Then while we were on the trip, I also failed to type up my notes.  I can say that while I spent more on parking than I would have initially liked, I did spend less overall than I thought I would. I didn’t get many souvenirs for people while there, so that helped cut down the bottom line. We also prepaid on some of the attractions we went to, which helped lower the price. The vehicle we got was pretty fuel efficient so paying for gas wasn’t as painful as I expected, plus we found gas stations that had lower prices on the way to different things.  For the month of March, it was hard to really watch my finances. I’m so used to the way I spend money and budget. Being paid only once a month and being the only income in the home ha...
