Week 25 - Almost half way through the year

The formatting of this post has been giving me a headache. I apologize if it's weird, but I'm tired of fighting with it.

I was awoken by the sound of a cat knocking a metal drink container onto the floor around 6 am. I swear, they know when they’re supposed to be fed. Sadly, they wake up the wrong person. After waking up, I did read some of the book for my book club meeting next week. I’m only 20% done at this point, but it is a welcome break from the other book I’ve been reading.

I decided that it was time to get up and eat a little bit then hit the trail for my morning walk. I had a couple pieces of wheat toast with crunchy peanut butter on them to make sure I didn’t get light headed while out walking this morning. It worked like a charm, as I felt great while walking.

The little one was gone with his dad today so I just sat around for most of the day and relaxed. I miss him terribly when he’s gone, but having a break from his intense amount of energy is nice every once in a while.

N/A - Didn’t wear my watch

I spent much of today reading. I am really enjoying the book I selected for book club this month! I hope my group members also enjoy it.

June 18 -

10,547 steps

I agreed to do a 5k with a friend, so I decided to go for a walk. I’ve also been working on getting the sidewalk clear of weeds. It would be nice if there was a way to mark the time I was using the weed eater so I’d know how many calories it burns swinging that thing around. LOL!

June 19 -

2,282 steps

I didn’t wear my watch much today, because sometimes I just don’t feel like it. I did a lot of weed eating again today. The weed eater has been frustrating me a lot due to how the string is not coming out properly AND going through the battery so quickly.

June 20 -

4,217 steps

I didn’t put my watch on until after noon, so there’s a chance that I took more steps than I thought. I did some more weed eating today. Look, I have a really long sidewalk and it takes a while to get the weeds down to the ground so don’t be too judgy when I put that I’m doing a lot of weed eating. The little one also had dance today, so a fellow mom and I tried to do the same stuff as the kids, but we could only do the warm ups as there was a lot of tumbling and balancing on yoga blocks during class.

June 21 -

1,005 steps

I know I have a 5k tomorrow, and yet I am completely unmotivated to go for a walk to stretch out the muscles that have likely atrophied due to lack of use. I will survive and likely learn a lesson or two about doing what I need to do to prepare for a 5k in the future.
